Colm Wynne

Colm Wynne

Colm took up dancing in the early 1960s, and started competing, with his life partner Carmel, in 1968, attaining Championship class in both Standard and Latin in 1970.  In 1972 with the start of their family, they retired from competitive dancing.  He qualified as a scrutineer in 1970 and has been the regular Federation scrutineer since his retirement as a competitor.  He has been ‘on the table’ at most of the recognised DanceSport competitions in Ireland over the intervening years.

In addition he has been privileged to serve as Honorary Secretary of the Irish DanceSport Federation for 30 years, from 1969 to 2000, with a short break in 1974.  He has qualified as an International DanceSport Federation international adjudicator, and since his retirement from the Secretariat has been busying himself with such things as the Website and is currently undertaking a major revision of the constitution and rules of the Federation.
